A Life Well Lived

“Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility consider one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.”
---Philippians 2:1-4

Christ died to redeem us from our sins. For nonbelievers this is a difficult concept to grasp. And for men and women who have succumbed to demons, this is a concept that strikes fear in their hearts.

Everyone faces a moment of truth in their lives. Do they given in to temptation and surrender to demons, or do they willfully surrender their care and will over to Christ? That moment of truth comes like a thief in the night. It can occur at an early age or in the later years. There are no do-overs when this moment occurs.

The idea of being saved rankles men and women on the fringe. The idea that they are not in control of their own destiny fosters fear. For many, the temptations they have given in to cloud their judgment. Wealth, power, fortune, and fame pollute the mind, the body, and the spirit. Just as gambling, chemical addictions, and other obsessive behaviors do.

Our moment of truth can be subtle, or it can be striking. The defining characteristic is what we do in that moment. Do we rise above ourselves, or do we give in to fear? Do we take the narrow road and leave our sins at the gate, or do we travel down the easy road that leads straight to hell?

For those of us who fell into Christ’s loving arms, the moment our transformation occurred is often striking. It is sometimes described as a moment of clarity. During these moments, there are no shades of gray. Only black and white, the difference between the darkness and the light.

We are never the same. We begin to live outside ourselves. Though we are not perfect, the idea of becoming perfect in Christ’s eyes is central to our existence. The pitfalls of sin become more and more evident, and we begin to watch for temptations that might creep in.

For those of us that have traveled a dark road, there is no better feeling in the world than helping others overcome their obstacles. Witnessing joy in the lives of those around us brings about a joy of our own. Helping others connects us with the Holy Spirit  and brings us closer to Christ.

That said, we live in a world steeped in sin and rife with temptation. Men and women that have given into demons thwart our efforts to live a holy and pure existence on a day-to-day basis. For them, their carnal pursuits outweigh the joy of helping others. This has now reached a tipping point.

On Thanksgiving Day of 2018, Christ sounded the Clarion Call, giving an audible signal to His faithful and His true that demons were on the advance and that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse were preparing to take wing. In a very real sense, Gabriel has blown his horn.

Deep-space sonar stations around the world received the signal weeks later. The signal defied physics and baffled the world’s top scientists and astronomers. Reports of the signal were largely, and deliberately, ignored by the media and by political leaders. Power brokers and sycophants that long ago abandoned Christ’s commands buried the story so as not to alarm the public and carried on with their personal agendas. (Ezekiel 28:2-5)

Christ warned that the days ahead will offer an “Abomination of Desolation”. (Matthew 24:15). He warned that men and women that have succumbed to demons will attempt to deceive His faithful about His arrival: “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or ‘He is over here,’ do not believe him.” (Matthew 24:23) He also warned that His faithful and His true would suffer through tribulations unlike any before.

There is no barrier or obstacle too great that cannot be overcome through faith. As Christ said, “if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20) In the days ahead, it is vital that we maintain conscious contact with Christ.
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.'"
---John 14:6
