Modern-Day Pharisees

“But Jesus called for the little ones, saying, ‘Allow the children to come to Me, and do not forbid them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.’”
---Luke 18:16-17

Psalm 106 was written after the establishment of Jerusalem, and before the Roman occupation. The historical account was written during a time of peace and prosperity. It is a poignant reminder of Christ’s mercy and grace despite the Israelites repeated defiance of the Ten Commandments. Psalm 106 was also written before the birth of the prophet Isaiah and the reigns of the four Judean kings that allowed for the Roman occupation of the Holy Land.

Verse 40 of Psalm 106 is perhaps the most striking passage. The passage reads: ”Therefore the Lord was angry with his people and abhorred his inheritance.”  It is a testament to the short-mindedness and depravity of many of the Israelites that inherited the blessings of freedom their forefathers’ exodus from Egypt afforded them.

For sons and second sons of Israel, men and women of faith who comprehend the Holy Trinity, this passage brings tears to the eyes. It is difficult to grasp how Israel could defy Christ and ignore the dire warnings He conveyed to Isaiah, especially after all their forefathers had been through. The Pharisees fell victim to Provincial Rome’s luxuries and that their hearts were hardened much like Pharoah. In the end after they had rejected Christ and condemned Him to death, all the world suffered for their insolence.

Very few pastors these days address the events that led up to Jerusalem’s occupation by Rome or the role the Pharisees played within their own society as oppressors. Instead, they paint a narrow picture of Christ’s return and tritely focus on passages like John 3:16. They soft-sell Christ’s teachings and suggest that simply believing in Christ or professing yourself to be a Christian affords you eternal life.

This simply isn’t true. The measure of a man is determined by his faith, and by his ability to proselytize and carry the message, even in the face of adversity. Simply put, a man is measured by his ability to adhere to Christ’s Commandments and willingness to live by Christ’s teachings.

The belief that rebelling from scripture does not have repercussions for ordained followers is a lie spread by Lucifer himself. Christ reveals, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:1-5)

Like the kings that allowed Jerusalem to be taken over by Rome through their own debauchery, those who repeatedly violate the Ten Commandments and ignore Christ’s teachings are destined for damnation. A lifetime of sin cannot be rectified with a deathbed appeal. As Christ reveals, “But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” (Matthew 7:26-27)

In recent years, more and more men and women around the world are abandoning Christ’s teachings and turning away from the Ten Commandments to follow sinful pursuits. With technological advances in media and telecommunications, the world has grown smaller and the spread of salacious behavior more acute. In effect, global civilization has begun to mirror the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.

On Thanksgiving Day of 2018, Christ sounded an alarm. He trumpeted the Clarion Call and announced His return. He gave an audible signal to His faithful and His true that demons are advancing and that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse were preparing to take wing. In a very real sense, Gabriel blew his horn.

Deep-space sonar stations around the world received this signal weeks later. The signal defied physics and baffled the world’s top scientists and astronomers. Reports of the signal were largely, and deliberately, ignored by the media and by political leaders. Idolators that long ago abandoned Christ’s teachings buried the story so as not to alarm the public and pressed forward with their unholy agendas as if nothing had happened. (Ezekiel 28:2-5)

Christ warned that the days ahead will offer an “Abomination of Desolation” (Matthew 24:15). He warned that men and women that have succumbed to demons will attempt to deceive His faithful about His arrival: “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or ‘He is over here,’ do not believe him.” (Matthew 24:23) He also warned that His faithful and His true will suffer through tribulations unlike any before.

There is a difference between faith and religion, and it is important to note that the archdioceses and bishoprics of the world’s largest Christian denominations frequently mirror the Pharisees of old. This is especially within the Roman Catholic Church, the Church of England, the The Jesus Christ Church of Later-day Saints, and the Lutheran Church.

In the days ahead, the leaders of these religions will attempt to placate the four global superpowers and eight families of kingmakers that cater to their dalliances. Their elder councils have succumbed to Satan and listen to the lies of Lucifer. They serve their own sinful indulgences rather than the parishioners that gather before them.

As Christ revealed, ““Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Authority’ by others.” (Matthew 23:5-7) To a great extent their teachings are antithetical to Christ’s, with each of these four churches claiming intermediary status. The purpose behind this is to maintain their foothold on power and the luxuries their affluence offers.

Christ warns: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’” (Matthew 7:21-23) In effect, He was speaking directly to the council of elders of each of these four religions and heretical parishioners that buy into their lies.

It is important to remember that every son and second son of Israel has a direct line to Christ as He, Himself revealed: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” He also teaches us how to ask of Him (Matthew 6:9-13) and reminds us to refrain from longwinded expressions of selfish desires the Gentiles were known for. (Matthew 6:9-13)

In short, Christ teaches us to pray for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry out His will. To escape the trials and tribulations we are about to face, it is paramount that we consistently follow these teachings and remain firm in our faith.
“The wise builds their house,
but with their own hands the foolish one tears theirs down.

Whoever fears the Lord walks uprightly,
but those who despise him are devious in their ways.

A fool’s mouth lashes out with pride,
but the lips of the wise protect them.”

---Proverbs 14:1-3
